MacPaw Holiday Event Privacy Notice
Because even during the holidays, we care about your privacy!
This winter, we’re celebrating together with an online event full of fun, friendly competition, and gifts. Some of the Christmass activities will take place online through the website, which was specifically crafted for MacPaw - https://www.macpaw-holidays-checklist.com/ (the “Website”).
To make everything run smoothly, we’ll need to collect and process some personal data through the Website. Please check the information below to learn who is involved in processing your personal data, what information we collect and for what purposes, what happens to your personal data, and what rights you have in that regard.
Who’s involved
Your data will be handled by:
us, MacPaw Way LTD, with registered address at 25 Serifou, Allure Center 11, Office No. 11-12, 2nd Floor, 3046 Zakaki, Limassol, Republic of Cyprus; email: dpo@macpaw.com (the “MacPaw”); and
our trusted event facilitator Filosofia LTD, who helps us organize the activities, communicate with you online, and distribute presents.
What we collect
We’ll only ask for what’s necessary for us to organise Christmas activities and for you to participate in them:
information you use to sign up (username and email address if you sign up manually);
your profile details (username, photo if you decide to add one);
content, such as photos, videos, documents, posts, comments, etc., you create and/or post when participating in our Christmass activities or engaging with other participants;
conversations with us (messages you send through our forms or by email to participate in our Christmas activities, provide your feedback or for any other reason);
your address - for us to send you presents.
Your profile may be associated with other categories of data that are assigned to you or automatically generated based on your activity, including:
assigned role (participant/admin/moderator/developer);
results of your participation in the Christmas activities (such as status of the submitted tasks, points earned, grading result, admin feedback, attendance confirmation, rank position);
Please note that we also automatically collect some additional data through the Website, specifically:
unique user identifier (auto-generated);
log files;
technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type;
usage data: timestamps showing when your profile was created, updated, and deleted;
location data: approximate geographic location based on IP address; and
cookie data (Clerk Session Cookies, Admin Tab Persistence, Theme Preference).
Your consent
By joining the event, you agree that we can use your data only for the purposes of organizing and running the MacPaw_Christmas holiday event. You have a right to withdraw consent anytime during the event (check section “Your rights” below).
If you don’t wish to participate in the MacPaw_Christmas holiday event and/or share your personal data as described in this Privacy Notice, you may withdraw from participation from the very beginning by not creating an account on the Website. Your decision not to participate in MacPawChristmas holiday event will not negatively affect your employment, contractual engagement, or any other legal relationship with MacPaw.
Who we can share/exchange your personal data with
Clerk Inc. - authentication service that ensures user authentication, session management, password hashing, email verification (Clerk Privacy Policy);
Supabase Inc. - database & storage service that stores all user profiles, activity submissions, uploaded files, and event data (Supabase Privacy Policy);
Vercel Inc. - a hosting services provider (Vercel Privacy Policy).
How long we keep it
We’ll keep your event data for this MacPaw Christmas holiday event from December 10 up to January 18, 2025. After that, it will be safely deleted from all systems, including data that is processed by who is involved.
Your rights
You always have the right to ask about your data, request correction, withdraw your consent, and/or delete your data at any time — just contact dpo@macpaw.com.
